Amichai’s Top 50/44. “Bette Davis Eyes”

This was a big hit during my bar mitzvah party circuit circa 1982, awkward dance moves and hormones and I don’t think any of us knew who Bette Davis was. But we got it. And loved the song which won kim Carnes the Grammy in 1981. It was written and first performed in 1974 by Donna Weiss and Jackie DeShannon. Fun fact: DeShannon sings “she knows just what it takes to make a crow blush”, while Kim Carnes replaces “crow” with “pro.”
Also, Bette Davis adored it. Enjoy the vid.
