Thank you for choosing to join me and artist Jacqueline Nicholls on this 40 day journey into a new year. I hope these reflections on the ripples of our being inspire private introspection and public conversation. Here’s today’s post:

Prepent Day 35

“Oh My God” is still a favorite expression when it comes to climaxing or just enjoying the erotic touch. Do we really walk this talk? Much of our sex life, in whatever form, is auto-pilot-knee-jerk behavior, and whether we’re having some, none, plenty or too much, sex presents for many of us the deepest portal for sacred connection that exists within our bodies. It is also where we sometimes experience, and often carry with us painfully, the deepest disconnection of body and soul. How have I hurt, abused, neglected, avoided, or took less care of this sacred aspect of my life? This one is reserved for private confession, perhaps in the bath or in front of the mirror, eye to eye: Where does it hurt? Where am I carrying the wounds of touch, the scars of longing? In this age of digital devices and seemingly unlimited options, how can I help heal and bring more sacred presence to each and every interaction in my love life?

Very excited for Lab/Shul’s fifth season of High Holy Days, back in Tribeca. We invite all ages to return to center, recharge soul, reclaim community and co-create our widening circles of care, compassion and justice.
