Sabbath Queen kicks off a US theatrical release on Friday, November 22nd at IFC Center in New York. Tickets are now on sale! There are five shows a day — 11:15AM, 1:30PM, 4PM, 6:20PM, and 9PM.

I am thinking back to when I opened Trembling Before G-d at Film Forum after 9/11 and how people wanted and needed to be together. In this tender time, our Sabbath Queen screenings will be a place to gather, to reflect, to cry, to feel some joy, to be in community and to speak with love and respect across our divides. Once again, we make the cinema a place of collective nourishing and healing.

After the 11:15AM show, a special Sabbath Queen Editing Masterclass with Editors and Writers Francisco Bello ACE and Jeremy Stulberg ACE, Editor Kyle Crichton and Director Sandi DuBowski to discuss the creative editing process of crafting a longitudinal documentary two decades in the making. Co-presented by The Alliance of Documentary Editors (ADE), The Karen Schmeer Film Editing Fellowship, The Documentary Producers Alliance (DPA), and BIPOC DOC EDITORS.
