Top 50/11. Chicago

Tonight on a hill in Tennessee that is sacred to the faeries a deep hole is open in the earth. The May pole that was planted in the hole a year ago will be burning in the fire pit all night and tomorrow a new pole will penetrate the hole and rise above the crowded hilltop, connecting earth and heaven, axis mundi. But tonight the hole, like hope, is open for our prayers and our tears and seed and cries and all potential.
Pie revered this night and kept watch at the hole and honored its magic. This will be the second Beltane eve he’s no longer on this earth and will be peeking through the hole but from its other side.
On another night, windy cold, back in January ‘17, I walked across Manhattan with my headphones on, playing Sufjan Steven’s ‘Chicago’ again Ana again and again, hurling into the wind: all things go, all things go. I didn’t know that was the night my dear pie died. And yet I did. And so he went into the endless hole.
All things go. All
Things know.
Upon another sacred night, far from the mountain but always not: keep dancing on the rim as the portals in between the worlds gently open. Welcome home.
